FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) Workshop
FMEA is a widely used technique which systematically identifies potential problems in processes or products so they can be eliminated before they occur.
After an introduction to the purpose and benefits of FMEA, the class will participate in the generation of an FMEA for a “fun” process or product, and will then discuss how to use the FMEA to reduce risks. This will be followed by the generation and discussion of an FMEA for a real process or product.
Process Mapping Workshop
A simple but powerful way to discover what’s really happening in your processes, process mapping is a methodical, team-based technique now used extensively in the service and public sectors as well as industry. Once the process is revealed, problems and improvement opportunities can be identified, which lead to benefits in productivity, customer satisfaction and costs.
This workshop takes a hands-on approach, teaching the techniques as the participants construct and analyse a process map for one of their own processes and generate a list of improvement actions.

Tools for Team Problem Solving
This course combines a structured, team-based approach to solving problems with a practical introduction to many of the tools. A problem solving game allows participants to learn the tools by using them.
Projectiles ß Us© Problem Solving Game
Participants learn how and when to use the commonly used Problem Solving tools by taking part in the Projectiles ß Us © Problem Solving Game.
While playing this game, participants learn how to use the appropriate tools to define the problem, measure the current process performance, analyse both the data and the process to identify the root causes, identify solutions which will improve the process, and implement controls to prevent recurrence of the problem.
The learning is consolidated with a follow-up session on applying the approach and tools to the participants’ real life situations.
Tools include: Checksheet, Pareto, Run Chart, Brainstorming, Decision Making, Cause and Effect Diagram, 5 Whys, Flowcharting, Histogram, Scatter Plot, Experimentation, Prioritisation Matrix.
